Job Searching

The WorkPlace Group offers employment services to assist in preparing for, obtaining and keeping a job. These services may consist of an employment needs assessment the development of a Return to Work Plan, individual employment consulting, advice about job loss, retraining and education, job search techniques, labour market information, job placement services, and on-the-job follow up.

Employment Consulting

Employment Consultants assist people in finding and keeping employment. You are assisted to identify your employment strengths and challenges and create a step by step "Return To Work Action Plan", and will later receive continued support to ensure successful long-term employment.

Job Placement

For clients that are unlikely to succeed through an independent job search, we provide additional supports through our Job Placement team. Our team may find or develop employment or workplace training opportunities; assist in job negotiations; or workplace modifications that will lead to your continued success on the job.

Additional services:

  • Identifying and clarifying interests, abilities, skills, and education in relation to short and long-term career goals
  • Exploring training requirements
  • Facilitating skills that support successful employment
  • Job search tools such as resumes, interviews, job search strategies
  • On-the-job training opportunities
  • Placement support in resolving workplace issues to ensure a successful match
  • Support to remove work related barriers

Job Retention

This support is available when continued employment or advancement is unlikely to succeed without further assistance. Eligible individuals can expect support and mentoring to promote long-term employment based on developing experience, workplace skills, capabilities and confidence.
